KIM WHITE

Head Coach

I am currently in my 20th year at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, where I teach Broadcast Technology and advise the nationally recognized broadcast program, Husky Headlines. In addition to teaching at Northwest, I am in my 13th year as the Head Softball Coach after serving as the varsity assistant the previous 7 years. When not on the softball field, I can be seen at many other athletic endeavors, having coached volleyball and basketball for the Huskies previously.  I am currently the C team basketball coach for the Lady Huskies.Prior to my time at Northwest, I worked from 1993-1999 as an assignment editor and field producer for sports at KSHB TV. While working to earn my teaching certification in 2000, I worked at the ABC affiliate in Kansas City, KMBC 9. I am a 1993 graduate of Park University, where I played college basketball and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a double major in Radio/Television and Journalism. I earned my Masters in Education from Baker University in 2008. When I am not in the classroom or on the field or court coaching, I love to relax with a good book, catch the latest flick or spend time with my 8 year old black lab, Indy.

Coaching/Sponsor philosophy:  To serve as a mentor, coach and teacher who provides young people with a safe and respectful environment where they are encouraged to develop character and skills as students, athletes, citizens and people both in the classroom and on the field. As a transformational coach I strive to motivate and inspire my players to work hard and work together and never leave the playing field wondering "what if".  My goal is to give back to the game all that was given to me by God and the coaches who impacted and changed my life.

I am so excited to be part of the Husky Softball family and continue my coaching career within Blue Valley School District. I am passionate about building relationships, developing strength and conditioning programming, and helping young athletes reach their potential on and off the field. Outside of work and off the field, I love hiking with my dogs, Winston & Martin, and we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible. I also love boating, wakeboarding, traveling, weightlifting, and spending time with my family.

SIDNEY HOLLER

C-Team & Ass. Varisty Coach

The 2020 season will be my first season coaching at Blue Valley Northwest. I graduated from DePauw University in 2019 where I majored in History and minored in Political Science and French.  I was a captain for DePauw where I caught and played the corners.  I am very passionate about helping young women strengthen their level of courage and self-confidence, and believe that softball has the ability to empower those who play it. I also believe that being a great teammate is the basis of being a great player, and that the best players are those who put the team's needs ahead of their own. As a coach, I hope to be a fun and helpful part of the program who empowers our players to reach their fullest potential and trust in themselves and their abilities, on and off the field.
I am currently applying to law schools where I hope to focus on public interest law, civil rights, and gender issues. I work as a legal intern at a family law firm in Kansas City. When I am not working or applying, I like to play with my five dogs, watch movies, and spend time with friends.
